Care for retired priests

Your donations ensure a dignified retirement for all our parish priests

Why your help is so critical?

Your gifts to the Priests Foundation provide for the accommodation of retired priests, and for the medical emergencies of both active and retired priests. All retired priests live either on their own, in assisted living facilities, or in nursing homes, and require some level of assistance.

At present, with the help of generous people like you, the Priests Foundation cares for 57 elderly or unwell priests in retirement. The Archdiocese has 94 priests in active ministry with an average age of sixty years.

The average age of priests is rising

“It is likely that we will have an extra 30 retired priests over the next ten years,” says Fr Kevin Smith, chairman of the Priests Foundation, “Without support from generous parishioners and friends, critical services such as accommodation support, transport assistance, and healthcare, will not be possible.”

You can support our senior priests with a donation today or begin a monthly gift to provide for ongoing their retirement needs.

Thank you for your donation

Gifts over $2 are tax-deductible.
