Francis Sullivan of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council speaks at the Assembly of Catholic Professionals luncheon about the Church’s institutional and pastoral response to the sexual abuse crisis.
“The Church requires a commitment to its people well beyond the statutes and the common law,” Francis goes on to pose the challenge: “we need to accept we have been humbled and diminished. We need to experience that grief. Then draw on the strength, stamina, perseverance and courage to make the changes needed to re-establish a credible and responsive Church here and around the world.”
