A ripple of courage. A life of service. A legacy of hope.
Let us come together from across the Archdiocese to honour the courage, service and life of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
Date: Sat, 8 August 2026
Time: 10.00am for Mass, followed by a community celebration
Venue: Cathedral of St Stephen, Brisbane CBD
Celebrations will begin with Mass at the Cathedral of St Stephen, presided by Archbishop Shane Mackinlay, followed by a community celebration in the Cathedral precinct.
Bring your family, friends and community to enjoy:
- family-friendly activities, including face painting, craft projects and a petting zoo
- opportunities to learn about St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and her enduring impact
- a range of food options and refreshments
- live entertainment and performances.
Inspired by St Mary’s call to “never see a need without doing something about it”, this celebration invites us to reflect on the ripple effect of her life — how courage grounded in faith and service to those in need can create hope and lasting impact for generations.
