Annual Catholic Campaign Parish Resources

Resources for parish priests, parish staff and Ambassadors

Prayer of the Faithful

We pray that the work of the Annual Catholic Campaign will be fruitful in serving those in need in our local communities. Inspired by Pope Francis, may our generous support produce in our hearts, and in the hearts of those assisted by these gifts, “the quiet joy of God’s love.”

Pre-Commitment Weekend Announcement

Please make a brief announcement during the parish notices or after the Mass on the weekend of 2-3 September. The following announcement can be made by either the Parish Ambassador or the Parish Priest:

Good morning/afternoon,

Next weekend, our Church will hold a special collection for the Annual Catholic Campaign.

The Annual Catholic Campaign brings together four Archdiocesan appeals, in support of vital Catholic agencies in this Archdiocese. To help you understand more about each of these important ministries, please take one of these Annual Catholic Campaign brochures home (hold up a brochure). You can find them on the pews in front of you.

Archbishop Mark Coleridge has prepared a homily, which we will play next weekend. At the end of this homily, we invite you to make a considered gift in support of these ministries. A gift in any amount – large or small – is deeply appreciated.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to talk to me after Mass.

Thank you and God bless.

Commitment Weekend Announcement

Please make a brief announcement before Mass on the weekend of 10-11 September. The following announcement can be made by either the Parish Ambassador or the Parish Priest:

Good morning/afternoon

Today we are conducting the Annual Catholic Campaign. This is a once-a-year in parish appeal that raises vital funds for four ministries across the Archdiocese: the Holy Spirit Seminary, Centacare’s pastoral ministries, the Priests Foundation and the Mary MacKillop Catholic School Access Fund.

We will take up a special collection for the Campaign after the Archbishop’s homily.

To make sure your gift and intentions are honoured and not confused with the Parish collection, please place your Annual Catholic Campaign gift inside the Campaign envelope (hold up an envelope) – this includes any loose change you wish to give. Then seal it and place it in the basket for collection. Please consider giving a regular monthly gift, to make a lasting difference in the lives of people in need. If you need additional envelopes, just signal the Collectors.

I encourage you to include your details on the envelope so you can receive a receipt in your name. All gifts over $2 are tax deductible. Non-tax deductible gifts support the Annual Grants Program for Catholic parishes and grassroots ministries.

Over the past years, our parish have given generously and together we have made a lasting impact on the lives of so many people in our community.

Your gift makes a difference in someone’s life, please be generous.

Thank you and God bless.

Archbishop Mark’s Homily

Archbishop Mark’s homily will be made available in time for Commitment Weekend. Please play the Archbishop’s homily during the Masses on the weekend of 9-10 September.

Follow Up Weekend Announcement

Please make a brief announcement before Mass on the weekend of 16-17 September. The following announcement can be made by either the Parish Ambassador or the Parish Priest:

Good morning/afternoon

Last weekend the Annual Catholic Campaign was held across the Archdiocese. Thank you to everyone who responded generously to the Archbishop’s call for support of the vital works of the Church across this Archdiocese.

If you didn’t get a chance to make a gift last week, there is still time. Your contributions are deeply appreciated and can be the answer to someone’s prayers.

Please place your donation inside a Campaign envelope (hold up an example), seal it and place with the parish collection today. It is important you use a Campaign envelope, so there is no confusion about the intention of your gifts.

Your tax-deductible gift will be put straight to work- to support our seminarians, to give the gift of Catholic education bursaries for children experiencing severe hardship, to provide medical and housing for retired priests and to extend Catholic support services in prisons, hospitals, psychiatric care and to those experiencing family and domestic violence.

I also ask you to prayerfully consider a regular monthly gift. Monthly giving reduces costs helps the ministries in the Archdiocese plan ahead and build further programs to help people in need.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to approach me after Mass.

Thank you again for your time and generosity.
