Our seminarians need your support
The priesthood has always been essential to the life of the Church from the time of Jesus until today. Holy Spirit Seminary aims to form each seminarian to be “a good shepherd, a pastor after God’s heart”.
Deacon Joshua Whitehead was ordained into the diaconate on 16 November 2018. He reflects on his journey to date, with his mentor and friend Father Ellis Clifford (retired).
The calibre of men who have answered God’s call to serve as priests gives us hope for the future of our Church. We are committed to ensuring they receive solid and robust preparation under the guidance of exemplary mentors.
As Pope Francis reminds us, Behind and before every vocation to the priesthood… there is always the strong and intense prayer of someone: a grandmother, a grandfather, a mother, a father, a community! Each day, at Holy Spirit Seminary, we experience the grace born of your prayers as our seminarians joyfully embrace a rigorous programme of prayer and study.
Your gifts to Holy Spirit Seminary provide for their education and formation so these men of faith will become our future shepherds and be there to support us, to guide our children, to be there for our grandchildren and to humbly serve Christ with a humility modelled after His own merciful heart.
