With an initial gift of $50,000, an endowment fund may seem out of reach for some parishes. However, with the help of loyal parishioners it can quickly become a reality. At Upper Mount Gravatt Wishart Parish, action began with one family’s generous offer to their priest, Fr Pat Moloney. This family had faithfully attended Mass and celebrated milestone life events in this parish for decades.

Hoping and believing others would share their vision, the family offered to donate $25,000 to a perpetual fund. With an overwhelming show of support the parish responded with an additional $25,000 and together these gifts formed the Upper Mount Gravatt Wishart Parish Endowment Fund professionally managed by the Catholic Foundation. This rallying of community spirit will support charitable, religious and educational activities for generations to come. At the end of 2014, the fund reached over $135,000.

Investment growth and generous parishioners continue to build the fund for future ministry and a perpetually sustainable parish.
