Archbishop Mark speaks about the scriptural basis for giving to the Church.
“Everyone is called to work with God to make the world a more human place; each of us contributes in our own way. The more generously we work with God, the greater the sense of satisfaction and even joy that God gives. Working with God also leads us closer to Jesus Christ who gives us the power to be and do what we are called to be and do.”
The Catholic Foundation is all about working with God. Its success has been made possible by the generosity of thousands of men and women. I have the deepest sense of gratitude when I see the impact your gifts have in the Church, especially by helping the disadvantaged and nurturing the faith through support of Catholic education, vocations, and evangelisation. I hope when you explore this site you will be much encouraged to see how your gifts and prayerful support have made a real difference in the lives of real people.
Should you wish to become more deeply involved in the philanthropic work of the Church, the Catholic Foundation can guide you, your family, or your organisation on that path. In the meantime, I invite you to join me in praying for all those — living and dead — who have shared their resources to build up the Church and make the world a more human place.
As always in the Lord,
Most Rev Mark Coleridge, Archbishop of Brisbane
